Hula Aerobics and Hoop dancing is a cardiovascular activity which tones your abs, strengthens your Core and promtoes laughter to name a few.

I am really lazy and hate exercise with a passion. Anything which requires effort is out the window for me, but since I've discovered hooping it's a totally different ball game. As I have problems with my midriff like most of us women do, I was looking for a quick fix. I discovered that whilst Beyonce was filming for Dreamgirls, part of her fitness regime was to hula hoop as it was good for the waistline.

I researched the internet throughly to discover what was so good about hooping and how it worked. It is stated that Hula Hooping burns up to a whooping 100 Calories in ten minutes.  Yes you read right 100 calories.

It also strengthen your core, builds stamina, flattens your stomach and makes you laugh whilst doing it.

Hooping has not really taken off in the UK, as big as it is in the states, but it is growing. Hooping is the new fitness craze to hit the UK and has been promoted as a result of Heart FM's television ad.

Christabel Zamor, creator of Hoopgirl is a professional Hoopdance performer and trainer. Christabel was commissioned by Heart Fm radio station to do a feel good advert for them.

Christabel then went on to make an instructional DVD for Heart FM in which she teaches Hula Aerobics.

Hula Aerobics is now in gyms all over the country. Christabel came to the Uk last year and trained people to become certified hula hoop instructors.

Here are a few videos of Christabel in action:
